The insects that were used to stay harmlessly in paddy field are becoming a major threat for rice productivity. They are appearing quite earlier than expectations and staying in the field for prolonged period. Brown Plant-hopper is one of those insects that are destructive in nature for rice plant. They suck the sap of rice plant,causing the plant to lose its vigor, decrease in tiller number, filled grains. Productivity is compromised to atleast 10 – 50%. To overcome this problem, we have designed a sensor based automated insecticide sprayer that works by using light to attract the attention of Brown Plant-hoppers, sensors to detect and spray required insecticide automatically
