: Computational and Bioinformatics Approaches to Develop Covid-19 Genome Surveillance System (CGSS) in Bangladesh
Description
: We have developed genome enabled RT-PCR based covid-19 disease diagnosis and surveillance system to reduce FALSE POSITIVE and FALSE NEGATIVE diagnosis of covid-19 disease. Our solutions will improve the SENSITIVITY and SPECIFICITY of the ongoing RT-PCR based diagnosis platform implemented by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (GoB). We will sequence the whole genome of circulating SAR-CoV-2 virus and identify mutation rate, pathogenicity and evolution of Covid-19 virus in Bangladesh. This information is crucial for long-term management of covid-19 disease. In addition, our locally designed primers will reduce covid-19 testing cost and number of testing can be scaled up.
