: A nurse is the main key contact person for the hospitalized and infected patient, where visitors are forbidden. Whereas the main precaution to maintain the minimum safe distance / social distancing are 1 meter out of many restriction and instruction provided by government and WHO.
According to the WHO report dated 20 April 2020, Total infected are 2948 and died are 101 people out of which 100 are Doctors and 57 are Nurses and one doctor was died (Daily star dated 18 April 2020). We came to know from WHO website, there are an estimated 3.05 physicians per 10,000 population and 1.07 nurses per 10,000 populations (estimates based on MoHFW HRD 2011). In this current pandemic situation, it may create panic to the health care workers and Doctors as well as family members, those are living with infected and isolated at home. Unfortunately if the pandemic situation for COVID-19 continues for long time, it will be very difficult to get the healthcare service provider for infected and emergency patient though Government has taken immediate decision to recruit more 2000 doctors and 6000 nurses due to the COVID-19. We have come up with an IoT solution integrating hardware to save the healthcare service provider by maintaining extra safe distance so that Doctor and Nurse can communicate with patient and vice versa.
In our digital IoT technology, System enables quick response to a patient’s needs and minimizes physical contact with infection patients. We are using mobile apps for managing calls and alarms, wireless Nurse Call handset and wireless two way voice communication and we can also locate the position of the infected or affected patient.
1. Mobile app enables Doctor and Nurse to manage alarms and to communicate with the patient remotely.
2. Wireless Nurse call handset, which uses by patient, enables to communicate with the Nurse remotely either urgent or non urgent calls, such as they need another blanket.
3. Wireless two-way voice communication device is also working as a speaker between Nurse and Patient.
4. The infected patient location can be monitored through the mobile app.
With Covid-19 (coronavirus) continuing its spread across the world, medical centers are being overwhelmed. The Makeshift hospitals are being set up in, for example, 2000 nos isolation bed at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), 1300 nos beds at DNCC market, 1200 beds at Uttara Dia bari. These short-term/temporary solutions are necessary to flatten the curve of Covid-19 spread, but there is a chance for lack of basic infrastructure, such as facilitating communication between nurses and patients. Basic infrastructure installation is also time consuming as per traditional way like PVC pipe and cable laying, cable termination etc. Our wireless IoT Solution is simply and quickly installed solution that caters to the basic communication needs between patients and nurses. It can be utilize for the isolated and infected people living at home.
It can be implemented within 15 days and cost will be about BDT50,00,000 (approx.) for the total solution of 100 isolated beds i.e. for 100 patient.
