: The idea is to build a mobile app to help individuals to track the COVID-19 cases in their own surroundings. COVID-19 is very contagious in nature and the effective way to be safe is by applying social distancing. But currently, social distancing needs to be maintained from all the surrounding people and that is very challenging. Social distancing may become easier if each individual can know more about the surrounding people - whether they are affected with COVID-19 or they are presumable/suspected (i.e. became close with COVID-19 affected people). With the information about the affected and suspected people in the vicinity, it becomes easier to take necessary protection strategy and maintain social distancing effectively (i.e. unnecessary social distancing can be avoided). The app keeps a record of the location information as well as the location changes of each user with the GPS available on a smartphone. Using this information, The app notifies individuals (when necessary) at run-time about the affected and suspected people in the surroundings and also displays their current locations on a map. Additionally, An IoT (Internet of Things) based location tracking device will be developed for the people who do not possess a smartphone. Finally, This cloud computing-based development provides the health care authorities a provision to update the status of affected people, to identify the suspected people automatically from the location history information, to send a real-time notification to the desired people. And the government authorities get access to the information to identify less or more COVID-19 affected areas as well as the movement characteristics of the people and to take necessary actions for caution.
