Existing systems in place for our farmers to sell their products at a fair price have failed over and over again, and this crisis has taken them to their breaking points. Without revamping the entire crop supply-chain model, we will succumb to similar crises in future. Having access to only local markets have limited their ability to negotiate and this lack of information and access end up contributing to virtual shortages. We are proposing a bidding-centered model to bring the ultimate producers and ultimate sellers closer than ever before with power of algorithmic supply-chain management. Our open data scheme will also prevent illegal business practices and ensure accountability and fairness. With a farmer-first model, our primary focus will be to ensure that farmers have access to a much wider market to sell their products, which are then transported through an efficient chain of services at the nearest point for customers.
