Title : Unlocking Bangladesh: Building an evidence driven guide for withdrawing lockdown through antibody screening
Description : The current pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), has forcefully applied a strong break in our smoothly and up-running paddles of development. The asymptomatic and contagious nature of this disease has forced the government of Bangladesh (as well as the whole world) to apply lock down at different scales to stop the spread of this disease. However, the state is expected to suffer a lot if this widespread lock down continues for some more time. In this circumstance, it is needed to unlock Bangladesh at least to a certain degree. But the question that always comes to the minds of policymaker is how to organize a systematic unlock down process. Well, the answer is simple: screening mass population using antibody testing to assess the nature of the infection spectrum in the whole country and also to assess not current coronavirus infection, but immunity. Antibody testing will help health experts better assess the status of infection rates and herd immunity in a particular region of Bangladesh. Here, we propose an antibody-based screening of mass population of Bangladesh to establish an evidence-based strategy to decide which subset of population should be unlocked first. For this purpose, we will employ highly sensitive, environmental friendly and widely accepted immunological ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay) based antibody testing for COVID-19 specific antibody screening in Bangladeshi population and subsequently develop a sensitive statistical model through computational knowledge for unlocking Bangladesh systematically and most importantly safely.
